Norwest Holst Awarded Two Contracts as part of the
City Centre Regeneration Project in Wakefield
The Building and Civil Engineering divisions of Norwest Holst (part of VINCI PLC) have been awarded contracts totalling £17.6 million by English Cities Fund Limited as part of a city centre regeneration scheme in Wakefield called the Westgate Development Area.
As part of the development, the Wakefield office of Norwest Holst’s Building division has been awarded a £10.8 million contract to design and construct a five-storey multi storey car park.
Norwest Holst’s Civil Engineering division has been awarded a £6.8 million contract to redevelop the road network relating to the project. This includes roads drainage, hard and soft landscaping, site preparation, demolition and the construction of a temporary car park.
The Westgate Development Area is one of the most important City Centre development sites in Yorkshire which will provide a new high quality business quarter on the former railway goods yards adjacent to Westgate railway station.
