Environmental certification
Strengthening ISO 14001
certification in VINCI companies helps raise awareness of environmental
concerns. Already commonplace in contracting companies, this
certification is also gaining ground in concession companies, which are
keen to show that their commitment to reducing environmental
impact over the whole operating and maintenance cycle of structures
matches their commitment to customer service.
VINCI used the Afaq 1000NR evaluation system to assess the effectiveness of its sustainable development action plans and the progress made. The evaluation covers 1000 points, of which half assess strategic approach and managerial practices, while the other half covers results. This exercise contributed a constructive, outside view of VINCI's sustainable development approach and revealed the improvements to be made. VINCI Construction Grands Projets, CBC Ile de France and Eurovia Centre-West region have reached the level of "mature", the second-highest level in this evaluation. The initiative will be continued over the next few years, with self-assessment procedures conducted by steering committees and a determination to achieve "exemplary" ranking.
