Promoting eco-design
Eco-design in VINCI's activity
The VINCI vision of eco-design
VINCI is convinced that it is possible to reconcile economic considerations and sustainable development, thanks to systematic use of eco-design. VINCI works with all its business sectors to factor in all stages of the life cycle of structures: design, construction, operation, maintenance, rehabilitation, deconstruction and demolition. This long-term approach is particularly evident in projects carried out by VINCI in the framework of concessions or public-private partnerships (PPP) spanning several decades. VINCI companies foster an approach to engineering structures based on life-cycle analysis and the development of reliable eco-comparison tools that measure real environmental performance.
Towards a VINCI eco-label
Eco-design is an important step towards production of more environmentally friendly buildings by introducing a common platform for dialogue between the different stakeholders. VINCI's commitment to eco-design will soon take concrete shape through implementation of an eco-design label. The idea is to harness VINCI's technical and organisational skills to offer customers a real guarantee of their environmental performance expectations in respect of the buildings delivered by VINCI Construction France. The main strength of this label is that it will guarantee the customer a performance "pack." This commitment to low-energy operation and CO2 emissions crystallises the goal of VINCI Construction France entities to establish long-term partnerships with their customers.
