GTM Construction’s partnership school: “Produce Better Together”.
“Produce Better Together” is a training program for GTM Construction operational managers in cooperation with their various local partners. The aim is to train operational managers in a better understanding of their various partners’ businesses. By identifying recurring problems and finding a rapid solution to them, the various partners improve the way in which they work together on joint sites.
A partnership school
The partners involved in this approach are the managers of technical lots who work on complete lots with GTM Construction companies. They are selected by the manager of each entity as a function of the relations they have with them at the local level (mainly SMEs). The aim here is to implement at GTM Construction technical training in lots that are outside the traditional culture of the company’s management, in order to identify and solve problems better, and to improve coordination and dialogue on site.
The course modules
In Ile-de-France, six course modules, developed in 2002, have been set in place: Tiles, Heating-Ventilation-Aircon, Electricity, Roof-Terrace weatherproofing, Curtain walls, Renovation plumbing, and Renovation ventilation.
The development of “Produce Better Together”
At present, “Produce Better Together” has only been introduced in Ile-de-France where around 150 people (works managers, engineers and design personnel, etc.) have been involved. This original initiative is currently being developed for deployment in the other regions.
