Encouraging buyers to innovate and use their initiative
In 2007, our purchasing
coordination unit was involved in teaching courses as part of the HEC
business school's master's degree in purchasing and sustainable
development. In 2009, it is working on a new "Purchasing and
Sustainable Development" programme, which looks at all the relevant
practices to be adopted from start of the worksite through to
completion. The coordination unit also works alongside operations teams
in the tender response process with the aim of taking into account the
social, societal and environmental impact of products and services
purchased from suppliers.
